I've never thought much about card protectors. Whatever was lying around, the card arrived in or I happened to find under a couch cushion was fine.*
Since I enjoy displaying my cards and they are art, I decided placing a tad of effort into displaying my cards was something I would pursue.
The sleeves from my local card store are fine. They do the job but....... they leave me uninspired.
After a youtube recommendation I logged on The Pennysleever and dived in. The prices are excellent. Especially since I decide to and grab The Eclectic with a wide variety of items. Checkmark one.
Almost immediately after my first order I received a (non-automated) note from the company. Excellent customer service from a real mom-and-pop organization. Checkmark two.
Within a day everything had shipped and despite travelling cross country arrived at my doorstep quickly. Checkmark three.
As someone who ran a shipping warehouse for years I notice how things are packed. All I can say is that I never want to play Tetris against these folks. Despite my wide variety of items (In addition to The Eclectic I added a bunch of other random items.) my box was packed perfectly. Almost to the point that I didn't want to take anything out. The packing was a work of art in and of itself. Checkmark four.
Finally, the biggie. Quality?
All I can say is my local shop, despite how much I love them (20 years) will never again get a penny on sleeves and supplies. (No reflection on my shop. They carry a wide variety of supplies. All the 'usual' brand names you see on the shelf of your local LGS or card shop.)
The quality of the top loaders is pristine. It's like looking through glass. No wave, swirles or pour lines. These are TOP NOTCH quality. Never before did I know how many different sleeves and sizes I might need or use. Never did I dream my cards could look so damn nice on my shelf. The pennysleeves are fit perfect, the top loaders, as noted above are clear, the 55 point sleeves hold my thicker cards securely and safely, the color bordered cards highlight and enhance cards that hold a special place for me. Checkmark five
This company has opened my eyes as to what card supplies can and should be.
